Rubiton's star is on the rise again
From Stallions.com.au 21/07/02

Rubitano showed his undoubted class as he romped home to victory in the Listed $100,000 Sir John Monash Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield this afternoon.

The Brian Mayfield-Smith-trained gelding, always travelling beautifully under the guidance of Nash Rawiller, ranged up to early leader Ruby Slipper on the turn and kicked clear for a comfortable win.

Prince Rubiton who didn't appear to handle the ground battled on well for third to make it a Listed race trifecta for his sire Rubiton.

It was Rubitano's eighth win from eleven starts, his only other preparation culminated in a win in the Group One Newmarket Hcp at Flemington in March.

The impressive galloper looks set for a successful spring campaign which will include the Toorak Hcp and W.S. Cox Plate.
